Zigly Pet Care has acquired Prolife Speciality Vet Clinic in Mumbai’s Malad neighbourhood, marking the third veterinary clinic the Cosmo First-backed pet care brand has bought out in just over a year. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but Prolife brings a 26-year operating history, roughly 20,000 pets treated to date, and ₹4.36 crore in annual recurring revenue into Zigly’s fold.

The acquisition follows Zigly’s buyouts of Small Animal Clinic & Surgical Centre in Khar West and Dr Santa’s Pet Clinic, giving the company three specialist veterinary practices under one roof inside eighteen months. Prolife, run by Dr S.M. Gadge since 2000, offers outpatient consultations, diagnostics, surgery, endoscopy, pathology and pharmacy support — services Zigly plans to keep running largely unchanged in the near term, with the existing clinical team staying on. The bigger shift comes over the next 9 to 12 months, when the clinic transitions to 24×7 operations, extending emergency and after-hours care to a part of Mumbai that currently has to travel for it.
“India’s first omnichannel pet care brand” is how CEO Saurabh Jain describes the company, and the Prolife deal is consistent with a strategy built on acquiring established, trusted local practices rather than opening greenfield clinics from scratch. That’s a meaningfully different approach from the one most pet care platforms in India have taken, where rapid store count growth often comes at the cost of clinical depth. Buying an established 26-year-old practice instead buys credibility and an existing patient base on day one — pet owners rarely switch vets casually, and acquiring the relationship is faster than building one.
Zigly has said strategic acquisitions “where appropriate” remain part of its roadmap, and Prolife is unlikely to be the last. For India’s pet care sector — still fragmented between standalone neighbourhood vets and a handful of venture-backed chains — consolidation of this kind signals the market maturing past pure retail and grooming into genuine veterinary healthcare infrastructure. Mumbai pet owners get 24×7 specialist care where none existed; Zigly gets a third clinical foothold and a clearer case that acquisition, not just organic rollout, is how omnichannel pet care actually scales in India.
