Be Clinical Raises ₹21 Cr to Scale Evidence-Led Skincare

The D2C beauty brand will strengthen R&D, expand skin, body and haircare, scale manufacturing and enter new markets with fresh capital.

D2C skincare brand Be Clinical has raised ₹21 crore (around $2.2 million) in a seed extension round led by Sauce, with participation from existing investor V3 Ventures and a group of angel investors.

The round included Sangeet Agrawal and Navin Parwal, founders of Mokobara; Arjun Purkayastha, Reckitt SVP and MD for Greater China and North Asia; and Shaunak Chirayu Amin.

Founded by Hemangi Dhir, Be Clinical was launched in 2025 following two years of research and development. The beauty and personal care startup develops clinically tested products containing dermatologically active ingredients, with a focus on ageing-related concerns among Indian consumers.

The fresh capital will support the company’s next phase of expansion. Be Clinical plans to strengthen its R&D capabilities, expand its skin, body and haircare portfolio, increase manufacturing capacity and enter new markets and geographies. The company will also invest in its team, clinical testing and manufacturing capabilities.

Be Clinical follows a full-stack operating model, with in-house R&D and manufacturing giving the company greater control over product development and quality. Its products undergo clinical testing before launch to validate their safety and efficacy.

The brand has delivered 1.2 lakh orders since launch and recorded a healthy share of repeat purchases, according to the company. Its portfolio includes products such as PlumpX Serum, FirmX Serum, Revive 10 Eye Cream and Neck Repair Cream.

Be Clinical’s website remains its primary sales channel, while its products are also available through ecommerce marketplaces including Amazon and Flipkart. The brand competes with Indian beauty companies such as Dr Sheth’s, Pilgrim, Innovist and Mamaearth, alongside global players including Clinique, Neutrogena and Cetaphil.

The fundraise comes as consumers increasingly seek skincare products built around active ingredients and clinical testing, creating opportunities for emerging D2C brands to differentiate themselves in India’s competitive beauty and personal care market.

Investor interest in the category remains strong, with Typsy Beauty also raising ₹20 crore in a funding round led by Saama Capital earlier this month.

Sauce said Be Clinical’s evidence-led approach, combined with its in-house R&D and manufacturing capabilities, provides differentiation in a personal care market where longevity-focused products represent an emerging opportunity.

With fresh funding, Be Clinical is now positioned to broaden its product portfolio, deepen its scientific capabilities and expand beyond its existing markets while building a larger evidence-led D2C skincare business.
