Kisah Apparels, the Kolkata-based men’s ethnic wear brand founded in 2018 by Yash Sarawagi and Yashwi Ladasaria, has raised ₹13 crore in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by Sagar Daryani, the founder of Wow! Momo, with participation from investors including Apoorv Salarpuria, Rahul Todi, Vinod Dugar, and Inflection Point Ventures.

The infusion of capital will be channeled into expanding into offline retail—adding three more stores to its existing two—and enhancing its direct-to-consumer (D2C) model through intensified marketing, product development, and tech-enabled supply chain and sourcing efficiencies .
Kisah’s shift from marketplace-first to an omnichannel strategy has been underpinned by its focus on Gen Z and millennial consumers seeking stylish yet affordable ethnic wear. Leveraging data from e-commerce and internal operations, the brand informs its design, inventory management, and promotional campaigns.
Yash Sarawagi, the company’s CEO, noted that “E-commerce gave us pan‑India reach and deep customer insights, which are now fueling our D2C and offline growth—backed by data, customer pull, and positive cash flow at the company level.”
The brand claims its revenue run rate has more than doubled—from ₹40–45 crore to over ₹100 crore—while maintaining positive operating cash flow and profit after tax (PAT). Investor confidence stems from this traction and the brand’s insight-led, scalable model.
By combining the reach of digital channels with the immersive experience of physical stores, Kisah aims to strengthen its market leadership in the men’s ethnic wear segment. With the new funding, the company is well-positioned for accelerated growth and enhanced brand presence across India.
