The electric two-wheeler maker is using its largest fundraise to expand manufacturing, strengthen its retail and service footprint, and bring new scooters to more consumers.
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker Simple Energy has raised ₹1,750 crore ($182 million) in a Series C funding round, giving the company fresh capital to scale production, expand its consumer network and strengthen its product portfolio. The round is the company’s largest fundraise to date, taking its total capital raised beyond ₹2,530 crore ($263 million).

The round was led by the family office of Dr Arokiaswamy Velumani, founder of Thyrocare Technologies, alongside Simple Energy founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar and co-founder and CFO Ankit Gupta. Bengaluru-based HNI Amit Mishra and the Haran Family Office also participated. The entire round was raised through equity.
A major focus of the new capital will be expanding Simple Energy’s ability to reach consumers directly. The company plans to establish a new manufacturing facility, increase production capacity and expand its distribution and service network. It will also invest in talent, research and development, marketing and supply chain operations.
Simple Energy currently has production capacity of 10,000 units per month and operates more than 80 outlets across over 60 cities. Its current portfolio includes the Simple One, Simple Wave and Simple Ultra electric scooters.
The company said monthly sales have grown more than fourfold over the past year. Simple Wave and Simple Ultra were launched within the last eight months, expanding its offering into family and performance scooter segments.
Revenue growth has also accompanied the expansion. Simple Energy reported operating revenue of around ₹150–160 crore in FY26, compared with approximately ₹40 crore in FY25, representing nearly fourfold growth. Southern India currently contributes most of its sales.
The company’s consumer expansion will be supported by a wider physical network, service infrastructure and product availability. For an electric two-wheeler brand, strengthening these touchpoints is particularly important as consumers evaluate not only the vehicle but also access to service and support.
Founded in 2019 by Suhas Rajkumar and Shreshth Mishra, Simple Energy later brought Ankit Gupta on board as co-founder. The company develops key components including chassis, battery, motor and software in-house.
Simple Energy claims to be the first Indian OEM to commercially produce heavy rare-earth-free motors and the first Indian OEM to offer a lifetime warranty on its motor and battery.
With its latest ₹1,750 crore fundraise, Simple Energy is entering its next growth phase with a focus on manufacturing scale, wider consumer access, stronger after-sales infrastructure and continued product development.
