Innovist Rides Quick Commerce Wave, Plots Smart Offline Expansion

In a crowded personal care market, Innovist is carving out its niche with science-driven brands like Bare Anatomy, Chemist at Play, and Sunscoop. Founded in 2018 by Rohit Chawla, Sifat Khurana, and Vimal Bhola, this company takes a research-first approach to haircare, skincare, and suncare, focusing on delivering real results instead of just marketing hype.

The founders realized that, unlike in the West, India was missing out on transparent, clinically-backed personal care products. That’s why Innovist was created—to fill that void. It’s a digital-first brand, with a whopping 90% of its revenue coming from online channels, including its own website, various marketplaces, and quick commerce platforms.

Quick commerce has been a real game changer, contributing to 15% of revenue across its three brands. By being an early adopter on platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart, Innovist has gained impressive visibility. In bustling cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai, Bare Anatomy has already climbed the ranks to become one of the top shampoo brands on these platforms.

While online sales are thriving, the company is also eyeing offline retail. They’ve kicked off partnerships with Reliance Retail and Dabur NewU, with plans to boost their offline presence to 20% in the next two years, starting with Tier II and III cities.

What sets Innovist apart is its vertical integration. With an in-house scientist and full control over R&D and manufacturing, they can launch products quickly while ensuring quality. Upcoming releases include revamped sunscreens, moisturizers, and face serums.

With a recent ₹136 Cr Series B funding round led by ICICI Ventures, Innovist is channeling investments into product development, hiring, and expanding its offline strategy. Aiming for a revenue target of ₹600 Cr this fiscal year, the brand is scaling smartly by blending fast delivery, robust R&D, and building consumer trust.
