Ranbir Kapoor & Badshah Back Healthtech Startup GABIT: A Celebrity-Powered Push in India’s D2C Wellness Ecosystem

Healthtech startup GABIT has quickly emerged as one of the latest D2C brands India is watching closely. Started in 2022 by Gaurav Gupta and Arpana Shahi, GABIT is creating a complete platform for living a long, healthy life. It combines wearable tech, AI coaching, supplements, and skincare into one system.

The startup is getting attention from celebrities and investors. Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and musician Badshah are among its backers. This is another big step for D2C startups, showing how India is becoming a center for fast-growing, digital-first health and lifestyle brands.

GABIT’s key product is its Smart Ring, a titanium, water-resistant device that tracks fitness, sleep, stress, and nutrition. With a 7–10 day battery life, the Smart Ring fits easily into users’ lives, acting as a constant companion on their wellness goals. The data is processed through PEP, GABIT’s AI health coach, which gives custom advice, food logging through voice, and help building good habits. By mixing tech, real-time data, and wellness services, GABIT is more than just a wearable brand—it’s a full health management platform, fitting into the trend of D2C startups changing consumer behavior in India.

Ranbir Kapoor said the GABIT Smart Ring “fits into your life” and makes real changes without being annoying. Badshah, whose career requires him to be at his best, added that the startup “mixes tech, habit-building, and fun,” which he liked. Celebrity-backed D2C startups are having a bigger impact on consumer trust and adoption, showing that influencer marketing and brand support are as important as product.

GABIT has raised $9.5 million from investors like Norwest Venture Partners and has support from industry leaders like Amit Agarwal (Amazon), Deepinder Goyal (Zomato), and Kunal Shah (CRED). This shows strong belief in the startup’s ability to grow in India’s wellness market—a market ready for new ideas with growing demand for preventive healthcare, digital products, and custom solutions. While many VC-backed D2C brands are testing product launches and different sales methods, GABIT is building its spot by creating a complete wellness system instead of just one product.

GABIT’s rise also shows broader D2C market trends, where wearable tech, data-driven health solutions, and premium D2C brands are coming together. Unlike traditional health companies, D2C startups like GABIT skip the middleman to connect with health-conscious consumers, providing transparency, convenience, and innovation. With celebrity support, investor belief, and a focus on long-term wellness, GABIT is set to become one of the fastest-growing D2C brands in the country.

As Indian D2C updates , the momentum in the sector is still strong. Whether it’s funding news, acquisitions, or product launches, the ecosystem is growing fast. GABIT is a good example of how D2C startups can use technology, funding, and cultural influence to build a lasting brand. If it keeps going this way, GABIT could become one of the top funded D2C brands and maybe even a unicorn. For now, everyone is watching how this new health tech company plans its next steps in India.
