The Bear House Makes Global Leap With First International Store in Dubai, Sets Stage for D2C Fashion Expansion

The Bear House, a popular Indian D2C fashion brand, has gone global with its first international store in Dubai’s Al Ghurair Centre. The 1,100 sq. ft. store marks the menswear label’s start in global retail, with plans to grow in the Middle East and Europe.

Started in 2017 by Tanvi and Harsh Somaiya, The Bear House made a name for itself in Indian fashion with European-style menswear and a strong omnichannel plan. The brand’s move into international retail shows the growing global interest in Indian fashion brands. This is a big step for The Bear House and the D2C movement, with more Indian brands expanding outside the country.

For Harsh and Tanvi, the Dubai store is a dream come true. They said, “We’ve always wanted The Bear House to be a brand that appeals to young men everywhere. Dubai is just the start of building a global group who love our designs and comfort.” This matches the trend of D2C brands aiming for international markets sooner.

Dubai’s Al Ghurair Centre was picked for its diverse shoppers and love for global fashion. The store, styled as a modern “bear’s den,” features an asymmetrical front, paw-print designs, and a bear mannequin, making the brand memorable in a busy mall. The layout is designed for easy discovery and a great shopping experience.

This expansion was made possible by a partnership with Omnis Group, a UAE retail company that helps build international brands in the GCC region. Omnis will help The Bear House grow through distribution, retail, and market strategies, which is a common way for VC-backed D2C brands to enter the Middle East.

Akarsh Gautam, CEO of Omnis Group, said, “The Bear House offers a fresh take on everyday menswear. It’s a great fit for the GCC’s retail scene, where people value style, quality, and brands with a purpose.” This partnership strengthens the omnichannel plan that helped The Bear House grow in India through marketplaces like Myntra, Ajio, Amazon, Flipkart, Tata Cliq, and its stores in six cities.

The brand’s appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4 added to its reputation, making The Bear House one of India’s fastest-growing D2C fashion brands. The brand’s focus on “The Young Gentleman” promotes a modern, easy style that appeals to Gen Z and millennial men looking for personal expression and comfortable fashion. This lines up with D2C market trends, where brand storytelling is key to growth.

With the Dubai store open, Abu Dhabi next, and Europe in the future, The Bear House is moving from a local success to a global brand. For the Indian D2C scene, this shows that fashion startups are going international early, using partnerships to reduce risks.

If the Dubai store does well, The Bear House could become a model for D2C expansion through retail, marketplaces, and premium branding. Its shows how Indian D2C brands are becoming globally competitive with good product design and supply chain improvements.
