Simple Energy Accelerates EV Push with Gen 2 Scooter Line-Up, Launches 400 km Range Simple Ultra

Simple Energy is speeding ahead in India’s electric vehicle and direct-to-consumer scene. They just showed off their upgraded Simple One and Simple OneS scooters (Gen 2 versions), plus a new scooter called the Simple Ultra with a super long range. These launches show Simple Energy wants to grow quickly in India’s competitive EV market and stand out as a brand that gives good value.

The Simple Ultra is the star, with a certified range of 400 kilometers. Simple Energy is aiming for customers who want a scooter that goes far, is reliable, and easy to use daily – things that really matter to people buying EVs directly from brands in India.

According to Shreshth Mishra, the Gen 2 upgrades are about making real improvements, not just changing how things look. Mishra said they are trying to reach more buyers by offering better range, performance, and usability, along with some design tweaks. This plan fits with what’s happening in the D2C market, where buyers are thinking more about long-term value.

To build trust, Simple Energy is offering a lifetime warranty on the motor and battery for all their scooters. This should give buyers confidence and help the brand stand out from other D2C electric two-wheeler brands in India.

Simple Energy has also been working hard to deal with supply-chain problems. They were one of the first to use motors that don’t need rare earth materials, which was a smart move given the global supply issues. Mishra mentioned they’re working on improving their motor tech, battery systems, and battery management systems to secure their supply chain, lower costs, and make their products better.

The new Gen 2 scooters are expected to really boost sales. Simple Energy sold about 6,038 EVs in 2025, and they expect that number to go up when the new models and Simple Ultra hit the market. More sales should also mean more money coming in.

The company is working on improving its finances. Mishra said that Simple Energy’s income has been growing. The startup plans to start getting ready for its initial public offering sometime between April and September 2027.

To grow across the country, Simple Energy is also expanding its physical presence. They want to have 150 dealerships and 200 service centers by March 2026, which will strengthen their sales and service network.

As more people in India buy EVs, Simple Energy’s new scooters show how D2C businesses are changing. They’re the way — using product improvements, supply-chain control, and long-term value to build strong brands.
