Zappfresh Expands Beyond Meat With Meevaa Foods, Commits ₹10 Cr to Frozen Veg Snacks Push

Zappfresh, a meat delivery company based in Delhi NCR, is moving into the frozen vegetarian snack business under the name Meevaa Foods. This is happening as food brands in India try to grow by selling more kinds of products.

Meevaa Foods will first be available in Delhi NCR starting February 9, then in Mumbai and Bengaluru from March 1. Zappfresh is putting about ₹10 crore into growing its frozen food business over the next two to three years. They’re starting with 12 frozen vegetarian items like samosas and momos, and they plan to add new products every few months based on what customers want.

This move is because more people in cities want quick, ready-to-cook meals. Zappfresh thinks that importing and exporting will make up 15–20% of its frozen food sales.

Zappfresh recently bought a controlling share in Avyom Foodtech for ₹7.5 crore. Avyom Foodtech then made a deal with Ambrozia Frozen Foods to buy its food processing business. According to Deepanshu Manchanda, this deal helped Zappfresh launch Meevaa Foods quickly and improve its manufacturing with Ambrozia’s recipes.

In 2024, Zappfresh bought Bonsaro, a meat delivery brand in Mumbai, after buying Dr Meat in 2023. These purchases have helped Zappfresh grow beyond just meat delivery. Zappfresh started in 2015, promising to deliver fresh meat within 90 minutes. Since then, it has been adding new types of products to meet customer needs.

Zappfresh’s finances are also doing well. They reported a profit of ₹7 crore in the first half of FY26, which is almost three times more than the ₹2.4 crore they made in the same period last year. Their sales also increased by 43% to ₹95.6 crore.

In October 2025, Zappfresh raised ₹53 crore by listing on the BSE SME exchange. This money will help them expand beyond meat. Since then, they’ve been adding new products, with Meevaa Foods being a big step toward becoming a complete food platform.

Zappfresh’s move into frozen vegetarian snacks shows how D2C brands can use their existing business, acquisitions, and customer trust to find new ways to grow. With money to invest, rising profits, and a plan to expand, Zappfresh seems ready to grow Meevaa Foods and strengthen its position in the Indian D2C market.
