ZeroHarm Sciences Raises ₹65 Cr to Scale Plant-Based Supplements Globally

The Hyderabad-based nutrition startup will use the fresh capital to expand across India, enter the US, UK and Middle East, and strengthen its research and manufacturing capabilities.

Hyderabad-based nutrition supplements startup ZeroHarm Sciences has raised ₹65 crore ($7.2 million) in a funding round led by Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited and Alkemi Growth Capital. The fresh capital will support the company’s domestic expansion, overseas entry and investments across research and manufacturing.

Kotak Alternate Asset Managers invested ₹40 crore through the Kotak Life Sciences Fund I, while Alkemi Growth Capital contributed ₹25 crore.

ZeroHarm Sciences plans to strengthen its brand presence across India while entering international markets including the US, UK and Middle East. The company will also scale its research and manufacturing operations as it builds a larger consumer health and wellness business.

A portion of the funding will be used to develop what the company calls its “Trust over Promise” platform, designed to demonstrate supplement efficacy through measurable health outcomes. The initiative aims to strengthen consumer confidence around the effectiveness of health supplements.

Founded in 2020 by Sachin and Shweta Darbarwar, ZeroHarm Sciences develops 100% plant-based health supplements using proprietary nano-formulation technology. The company’s patented approach converts plant-based nutrients into nano-sized particles, which it says improves bioavailability and enables controlled release at lower dosages.

The startup says it controls its supplement production value chain, beginning with medicinal plant sourcing through a network of 10,000+ farmers across Northeast India and the Himalayas. The raw materials are extracted at the Guwahati Biotech Park, followed by in-house formulation research and development and GMP-certified manufacturing.

ZeroHarm Sciences currently offers 60+ SKUs across categories including diabetes management, heart health, joint care, immunity, gut health, oncology support, women’s wellness and performance nutrition.

Its products are available through the company’s own website as well as e-commerce platforms including Amazon and Flipkart. The brand has also expanded into quick-commerce channels, creating additional consumer touchpoints for its growing portfolio.

The company claims to have served more than 3 lakh customers so far, giving it an established consumer base as it prepares for its next stage of expansion.

The funding comes as India’s nutraceutical market continues to expand alongside rising health awareness and growing consumer interest in preventive care. Other startups in the space, including Elevate Now and Earthful, have also recently raised capital.

For ZeroHarm Sciences, the latest funding represents an opportunity to combine its plant-based product portfolio, proprietary formulation technology and vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities with wider distribution.

With plans to expand internationally while strengthening its presence in India, ZeroHarm Sciences is positioning itself as a science-led, plant-based wellness brand with ambitions beyond the domestic nutraceutical market.
