Wellbeing Nutrition Revenue Doubles to ₹244 Cr; Losses Reach ₹92 Cr

The clean-label nutraceutical brand accelerates sales growth following USV’s acquisition of a 79% stake, while rising expenses weigh on profitability.

Wellbeing Nutrition, a clean-label nutraceutical brand, more than doubled its operating revenue to ₹244 crore in FY26 from ₹118 crore in FY25. However, its net loss widened 2.4 times to ₹92 crore as advertising, product procurement and other operating expenses increased. The financial performance follows pharmaceutical major USV’s agreement to acquire a 79% stake in the company in February 2026.

Founded in 2019, Wellbeing Nutrition operates in the vitamins, minerals, protein, collagen, omega supplements and broader wellness categories. Its portfolio includes oral strips, marine collagen, slow-release capsules and effervescent tablets. The brand sells through its website, online marketplaces and offline retail channels, with an international presence in markets including the US, UK and UAE.

Product sales accounted for all operating revenue in FY26, reflecting the company’s product-led business model across its nutraceutical portfolio.

Despite strong revenue growth, expenses rose substantially. Advertising and promotional spending increased 78.7% to ₹109 crore from ₹61 crore in FY25. The cost of materials consumed more than doubled to ₹106 crore, while total expenditure climbed 115.3% to ₹338 crore from ₹157 crore.

Consequently, Wellbeing Nutrition reported a net loss of ₹92 crore, compared with ₹38 crore in the previous fiscal year. Employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) expenses accounted for approximately ₹51 crore of the FY26 loss. Excluding this cost, the loss would have been around ₹40 crore.

There was an improvement in operating efficiency on an adjusted basis. The operating EBITDA loss, excluding ESOP expenses, declined to 13.4% of revenue in FY26 from 22.5% in FY25. Nevertheless, the company spent ₹1.39 for every rupee of operating revenue, highlighting the continuing pressure on profitability.

In February 2026, USV agreed to acquire a 79% stake in Wellbeing Nutrition at a valuation of ₹1,583 crore, providing an exit opportunity for existing investors.

The transaction reflects a broader consolidation trend in India’s consumer sector. Marico acquired a 60% stake in plant-based protein startup Cosmix at an equity valuation of ₹375 crore in February 2026. Hindustan Unilever had previously acquired a 90.5% stake in skincare brand Minimalist at a pre-money valuation of ₹2,955 crore.

For Wellbeing Nutrition, sustaining revenue growth while improving marketing efficiency and reducing operating losses will be central to its next phase of growth.
