Ather Energy Unveils EL Platform, AtherStack 7.0, and Concept Redux as It Powers Next Phase of Growth in India’s EV and D2C Ecosystem

Ather Energy, an electric vehicle company, just presented its new EL platform, AtherStack 7.0 software update, and a concept moto-scooter called Redux. These releases show the company’s plan to grow and connect product improvements with expansion in the Indian market.

The EL platform will support Ather’s next scooters. It’s meant to lower costs, speed up assembly by 15%, and make servicing twice as fast. CEO Tarun Mehta stated that while current models like the Ather 450 and Rizta will stay on their platforms, the EL platform is planned to provide value without losing performance. By using fewer parts and a easier design, production costs will drop and service intervals will increase to 10,000 km.

CTO Swapnil Jain noted a trade-off with the new design: in major accidents, the entire frame may need replacing. But, with cheaper frame costs, the overall value remains good.

AtherStack 7.0 is the company’s latest software, which includes pothole detection, live alerts, voice assistant using the Halo smart helmet, and better safety features like ParkSafe and LockSafe. Owners can now remotely disable scooters, handle charging, and watch security through an app. These updates will be sent out as over-the-air updates and will work with older Ather scooters.

Ather also displayed Redux, a moto-scooter concept that mixes scooter agility with motorcycle performance, and it gives an early look at the future of city travel in India.

Ather also presented a touchscreen update for Rizta, its family scooter, and performance improvements for the Ather 450 Apex. improved charging and new features like Infinite Cruise show how Ather is becoming a leader in the Indian market.

These releases show Ather’s growth plans, supported by consumer adoption and investor confidence in EVs. Ather Energy’s path shows the increasing connection of mobility, tech, and direct-to-consumer brand plans in 2025. As global EV companies look at India, Ather is becoming a strong D2C brand, setting standards in innovation, consumer connection, and expansion.
