Mumbai-based direct-to-consumer (D2C) dinnerware startup BlackCarrot has successfully raised pre-seed funding from a diverse group of investors, including Venture Catalysts, We Founder Circle, EvolveX Accelerator, GX Ventures, and Suraj Nalin, co-founder of PlaySimple Games. The round also saw celebrity participation, with Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia and advertising veteran Agnello Dias joining as equity partners. Dhupia will also serve as the brand’s ambassador.

Founded in 2024 by father-son duo Yadupati and Vishal Gupta, BlackCarrot is positioned as India’s first mass-premium dinnerware brand tailored for the health-conscious consumer. The startup offers a curated range of safe and stylish dining products including Bone China-free ceramic crockery, lead-free glassware, and 304-grade stainless steel cutlery and barware, catering to the growing demand for toxin-free and aesthetically appealing kitchen essentials.
With the fresh capital, BlackCarrot aims to bolster its presence across multiple sales channels including D2C platforms, major online marketplaces, offline retail, and quick-commerce services. The brand’s products are already available on platforms such as Tata Cliq Luxury, Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, and Nykaa Fashion. Offline, BlackCarrot has partnered with retail stores like Nature’s Basket and Food Square, and it has also entered into quick-delivery tie-ups with Zepto.
This funding marks a significant step forward in BlackCarrot’s vision to transform Indian dining habits by replacing toxic, outdated tableware with health-forward alternatives. The inclusion of high-profile investors and brand advocates not only lends credibility but also enhances the startup’s visibility in a competitive market.
As BlackCarrot scales its operations, it is poised to reshape the everyday dining experience for modern Indian households—offering products that combine safety, design, and sustainability. With strong market traction and a clear consumer focus, BlackCarrot is carving out a niche in the rapidly evolving D2C lifestyle segment.
