Praan Health Raises ₹8.5 Cr Seed Round Led by Rainmatter Investments to Redefine Chronic Care for India’s Ageing Population

Praan Health, a Bengaluru startup focused on lifestyle and chronic care for parents over 50, just got ₹8.5 crore in seed funding. Rainmatter Investments led the round, with WEH Ventures and angel investors like Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari from PhysicsWallah, plus Arjun Vaidya (ex-Dr. Vaidya’s) also participating.

Praan plans to use the funds to improve its tech, grow its clinical and coaching teams, and broaden its care network all over India. This investment shows confidence in India’s growing focus on preventive and lifestyle healthcare, which many families and wellness consumers are quickly embracing.

Founded in 2024 by Navneeth Ramprasad, Praan Health combines doctors, nutrition, and exercise to help parents live longer and healthier lives. Their method focuses on lifestyle changes, not just medication, making them a unique health and wellness startup.

Navneeth Ramprasad, Founder of Praan Health, said that there’s a gap in chronic care for families in India between hospitals and home programs. Praan aims to fill that by bringing structured, proven chronic care into people’s homes, where real lifestyle change happens.

In under a year, Praan Health says they’ve helped over 1,500 families across India, with over 50,000 personalized sessions from their team of doctors, nutritionists, therapists, and coaches. They make custom programs lasting 90, 180, or 365 days for over 25 conditions like diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, and surgery recovery.

The startup recently launched a mobile app so adults can easily manage their parents’ health, like uploading tests, tracking scores, and getting doctor consultations. The app creates a clear, data-driven connection for families to stay informed about their loved ones’ health, marking Praan’s growth as a digital health brand in India.

Nithin Kamath, CEO of Zerodha and Founder of Rainmatter, said that Rainmatter wants to support founders who are tackling India’s health issues with new ideas and care. Praan Health’s lifestyle-first approach is strong, helping families create lasting health habits instead of quick fixes.

With chronic diseases rising in India, affecting over 250 million people over 50, Praan Health’s combined model is the future of healthcare, mixing digital platforms with expert care.

Praan Health’s goal is more than just treating symptoms. By combining health expertise with habit changes, they’re building a system where tech, coaching, and care meet, changing how preventive health is handled in India.

As they grow, Praan Health wants to become a trusted brand for family healthcare, helping adults be involved in their parents’ health and reshaping how India approaches long-term lifestyle-based care.
