Practo, India’s leading digital health platform, has expanded its consumer services to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking a significant step in its global growth strategy. Building upon its established enterprise presence through its hospital management system, Insta, Practo now offers a comprehensive healthcare platform directly to UAE consumers, aiming to enhance accessibility and transparency in the region’s healthcare sector.
Bengaluru-based digital health startup Practo has launched its consumer-facing platform, Practo.com, in the UAE, specifically targeting Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. This expansion allows patients in these cities to access a network of over 31,000 doctors and 3,000 healthcare facilities across various specialties, including dermatology, dentistry, ENT, gynecology, and psychiatry. The platform integrates appointment booking, doctor discovery, and patient reviews, features that have contributed to Practo’s success in India.
Practo’s entry into the UAE’s consumer market complements its existing enterprise operations through Insta, its hospital management system, which already powers institutions like Emirates Hospital and Life Medical Center. The company plans to enhance its services by integrating insurance data at the doctor level, aiding users in making informed healthcare decisions.
The move follows a pivotal financial year for Practo, where it achieved profitability in FY24 and sustained positive cash flow into FY25. CEO Shashank ND emphasized that this expansion reflects Practo’s ambition to bring Indian healthcare innovations to a global audience, stating, “This is just the beginning as we scale our efforts to improve healthcare outcomes worldwide.”
With over 50,000 active monthly users in the UAE and partnerships with prominent healthcare providers like Sulaiman Habib Hospital and Clinics, Practo aims to establish itself as a comprehensive alternative to traditional hospital networks, offering patients a more connected and transparent healthcare experience.
