Royaloak Furniture Plans Aggressive Expansion with 100 New Stores, Eyes Global D2C Growth

Royaloak Furniture, an Indian home and lifestyle brand, is planning a big push for growth with plans to open 50 to 100 new stores in the next few years and increase its international presence.

Vijai Subramaniam started the company in Bangalore in 2010 with just one store, aiming to bring globally inspired, high-end furniture to Indian homes. Now, Royaloak runs over 200 stores in 110 cities and has a solid online presence through its website and major online marketplaces like Myntra, Amazon, and Pepperfry, which helps make it a leading D2C brand in India.

Royaloak’s success comes from its omnichannel D2C plan, which mixes physical stores, online channels, and a franchise-led expansion. Offline retail brings in most of Royaloak’s money, making up 95% of revenue, while online sales account for 5%, showing growth in India’s D2C market. Through master franchise partnerships, Royaloak has expanded to Tier II and III cities with smaller value stores that display select furniture. This ensures quality, availability, and reasonable pricing, making high-end furniture available to more people and empowering local business owners, which sets it apart in India’s D2C business.

Royaloak’s design comes from global influences, with pieces from America, Italy, Malaysia, and practical wooden furniture. Reaching five million customers was a major achievement, showing the brand’s popularity with changing customer tastes. The product range has grown to include three sub-brands for different customers, including those looking for value, premium options, and eco-friendly items. They also recently launched Royaloak mattresses and are moving into modular kitchens and wardrobes, showing their goal to offer full home interior solutions.

Growing internationally is a key part of Royaloak’s plan. They already have stores in the UAE, in malls like Silicon Central Mall (Dubai), RAK Mall (Ras Al Khaimah), and Lulu Mall (Fujairah), with a store in Sharjah coming soon. In the future, they plan to enter other Gulf countries, Europe, the USA, and the UK, showing Royaloak’s desire to become a globally known D2C brand from India.

Royaloak Furniture is doing well in the competitive Indian market by combining strategic offline expansion, franchise-driven business, and digital improvements. Its focus on consumers—guided by looking at market trends and customer feedback—ensures that each product appeals to Indian homes. By offering accessible global design, durability, and good value, they have created a unique spot in the D2C furniture market.

With goals of 100 percent year-on-year growth and over 500 locations in its long-term view, Royaloak is becoming one of the fastest-growing D2C brands in India. Through carefully planned store expansion, global spread, and better omnichannel capabilities, they are changing India’s D2C space today while making stylish, high-quality furniture available to customers everywhere.
