AI hardware startup Aina has emerged from stealth after raising $5.5 million (approximately ₹53 crore) in a seed funding round co-led by Redstart Labs, the venture arm of Info Edge Ventures, and 360 ONE Asset. The investment marks one of the early funding rounds in India’s emerging AI-native hardware ecosystem, as startups begin building computing interfaces designed specifically for the age of artificial intelligence.
The round also saw participation from MIXI Global Investments, Antler, Blume Founders Fund, and several prominent angel investors, including Kunal Shah, Tikhon Bernstam, Harshil Mathur, Shashank Kumar, and Vaibhav Domkundwar.

Founded in 2025 by former Ultrahuman Vice President of Hardware Apoorv Shankar, Aina is developing a context-aware AI hardware interface designed to simplify how users interact with artificial intelligence. Rather than relying on conventional apps, keyboards, or touchscreens, the company aims to create hardware capable of understanding user context and enabling more intuitive interactions with AI-powered assistants.
The fresh capital will support the commercial launch of Aina’s flagship AI-native interface while expanding its engineering and product teams. The startup currently employs around 35 people across Bengaluru and San Francisco and operates a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. It has also opened an early access waitlist for pilot users ahead of its product launch.
Before developing its flagship device, Aina introduced Dune, a programmable three-key keypad for Mac that dynamically changed its functions depending on the application being used. Combined with a natural language AI workflow builder, Dune served as an early experiment in context-aware computing. After showcasing multiple AI interface prototypes at CES 2026, the company launched Dune commercially in April and has since shipped hundreds of units, using customer feedback to refine its next-generation hardware platform.
Aina enters a rapidly evolving AI hardware market where global technology companies are exploring alternatives to smartphones and traditional computing interfaces. The company is betting that context-aware AI devices will become an important layer between users and increasingly capable AI agents.
The broader market opportunity continues to expand rapidly. India’s AI hardware market is projected to reach $46.5 billion by 2033, while the country’s wearable AI market is expected to grow to $19.1 billion during the same period, reflecting rising demand for intelligent consumer devices.
With fresh funding, experienced leadership, and a clear focus on AI-native computing, Aina is positioning itself among a new generation of startups building the future of human-computer interaction through intelligent hardware.
