Ultraviolette Expands Manufacturing Capacity to 1.5 Lakh Units Ahead of Tesseract Electric Scooter Launch

Premium electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive is ramping up its manufacturing and retail expansion as it prepares for the launch of its first electric scooter, Tesseract, and its next phase of growth. The Bengaluru-based EV maker plans to increase its annual production capacity to 1.5 lakh vehicles, strengthen its dealership network, and scale monthly sales ahead of a planned initial public offering (IPO).

According to the company, the second phase of its manufacturing facility will expand annual production capacity from the current 50,000–60,000 vehicles to 1.5 lakh units. The capacity expansion has been planned primarily to support the company’s growing scooter portfolio, including the upcoming launch of Tesseract.

Ultraviolette expects to begin deliveries of the Tesseract electric scooter in the first quarter of 2027. The company said the model has already received more than 80,000 bookings, providing strong demand visibility ahead of commercial production.

Alongside manufacturing expansion, Ultraviolette is targeting a significant increase in sales. The company currently sells more than 600 motorcycles per month and aims to increase that figure to 1,000 monthly units by the end of 2026, reflecting growing demand for its premium electric mobility products.

To support this growth, the EV manufacturer is also rapidly expanding its retail presence across India. Ultraviolette currently operates 45 experience centres and plans to nearly double its footprint to around 100 experience centres by the end of the year through its dealer-partner network. The expanded retail network is expected to improve customer reach and support the commercial rollout of its upcoming scooter range.

The manufacturing expansion is also aligned with Ultraviolette’s broader product strategy. While the company has built its reputation in the premium electric motorcycle segment, the launch of Tesseract is expected to significantly expand its addressable market by entering India’s highly competitive electric scooter category.

Beyond the domestic market, Ultraviolette continues to strengthen its international presence. The company currently exports its vehicles to 19 countries and aims to position itself as a global premium electric mobility brand. The expanded manufacturing capacity will help support both domestic demand and future international growth as its product portfolio expands.

With higher production capacity, a larger retail network, and strong early demand for Tesseract, Ultraviolette is positioning itself for accelerated growth in India’s fast-evolving electric vehicle market. The expansion reflects the company’s ambition to scale operations while preparing for the next stage of its business journey.
