Ecosys Raises ₹5 Cr to Scale Laundry Pods and Home Cleaning Business

The Mumbai-based brand will use the pre-Series A capital to strengthen its digital reach, build the brand and develop new formats across laundry and home cleaning.

Laundry and home cleaning brand Ecosys has raised ₹5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by GVFL Prarambh Fund, with participation from Proteus Partners, backed by operator-investors Puru Gupta and Sreejith Moolayil. The latest round takes Ecosys’ total funding raised to ₹7.94 crore.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to build the brand, expand its digital reach and develop new formats across laundry and home cleaning. The funding comes as Ecosys looks to increase consumer adoption of laundry pods as an alternative to conventional powder and liquid detergents.

Founded in 2017 by Sumit Goyal and Chirag Dangi, Mumbai-based Ecosys offers laundry pods made using water-soluble PVA film. Its 20-ml pods combine detergent, fabric softener and stain remover into a single pre-measured dose designed for both top-load and front-load washing machines.

The format is built around convenience and measured usage, eliminating the need for consumers to manually measure detergent for every wash. Ecosys is positioning laundry pods as a more convenient alternative within the household cleaning category.

The brand sells its products through quick-commerce and e-commerce platforms, giving it access to digital-first consumers and allowing the company to expand its reach beyond traditional retail channels. Strengthening digital distribution will be a key part of its next phase as Ecosys works to build greater awareness around laundry pods.

According to market research cited by the company, India’s household cleaners market is growing at nearly 14% annually, more than twice the global growth rate. This growth is creating opportunities for newer home-care brands to introduce specialised formats and compete alongside conventional cleaning products.

Ecosys is also looking to expand beyond its existing laundry pod offering by developing new formats across laundry and home cleaning. The strategy could allow the brand to broaden its consumer proposition while using its digital channels to introduce additional products.

The latest fundraise adds to increasing investor activity across India’s laundry and home-care segment. Koparo raised ₹14.5 crore in an extended pre-Series A round last year, while Cleevo secured $1 million in seed funding. Beco raised $10 million from Tanglin Venture Partners, and Scrubsy raised ₹27 crore from V3 Ventures in August this year.

For Ecosys, the ₹5 crore pre-Series A provides capital to strengthen its brand, widen digital distribution and develop a broader home-cleaning portfolio.

As consumer preferences continue to evolve towards convenience-led household products, Ecosys is using its laundry pod proposition and digital-first distribution to build a differentiated position in India’s expanding home-care market.
