Solgram Raises Over $1 Million in Pre-Seed Funding Led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital

The Gurugram-based premium grocery startup will deploy the fresh capital towards cold-chain infrastructure, technology, sourcing and operational expansion across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Solgram, a Gurugram-based premium grocery platform, has raised over $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital. Hospitality entrepreneur Kapil Chopra also participated in the round. The funding comes within a quarter of the company’s launch.

Founded by Shashank Shekhar Sharma, Solgram is building a premium grocery platform focused on fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood and other temperature-sensitive products. The company aims to maintain product quality through an integrated, end-to-end temperature-controlled supply chain.

The fresh capital will be used to expand its cold-chain infrastructure, strengthen its technology stack, deepen sourcing relationships and scale operations across the NCR. The company plans to build operational density and consistency within individual clusters before entering additional markets.

Solgram’s operating model covers the entire grocery fulfilment process, including sourcing, quality inspection, storage, order fulfilment and delivery. Its temperature-controlled stores feature dedicated zones for different product categories, while sealed thermal packaging and dedicated last-mile infrastructure support product handling during delivery.

The platform offers a wide assortment spanning fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood, bakery products, gourmet pantry items and emerging food brands. It has also introduced Mindful Mode, a health-focused shopping category featuring products with cleaner labels, nutritional information and provenance details.

To cater to different consumer preferences, Solgram offers both scheduled batched deliveries and express delivery options.

Currently operational in Gurugram, the company plans to expand its presence across the NCR before entering other Tier I cities in the coming months. Its expansion strategy centres on establishing strong operational capabilities and consistent service within existing clusters before moving into new markets.

Solgram’s early funding round highlights investor interest in specialised grocery models built around fresh and temperature-sensitive categories. Unlike conventional grocery delivery operations, its approach places cold-chain management, sourcing quality and controlled fulfilment at the centre of the customer proposition.

As it scales, the company’s ability to maintain product quality, delivery consistency and operational efficiency across a wider geographical footprint will be important to its growth.
