The Tata group jewellery retailer is strengthening its omnichannel network, expanding in Eastern India and making contemporary jewellery more accessible to new consumer segments.
Omnichannel jewellery retailer CaratLane plans to add 40–50 stores across India in FY27 as it strengthens its retail presence in key markets. The Tata group firm will also expand its footprint in Eastern India, with five to seven new outlets planned in the region over the coming months.

CaratLane currently operates more than 388 stores nationwide, including 69 in Eastern India. In West Bengal, the retailer has 31 stores across 11 cities and plans to increase this network to 35 stores as part of its longer-term growth strategy for the state.
The expansion will be supported by investments in CaratLane’s retail network, product portfolio and omnichannel capabilities. The company reported 42% growth in the first quarter of FY27, while its buyer base increased 28%, reflecting continued consumer demand for its jewellery offerings.
As part of its Eastern India expansion, CaratLane recently opened a new flagship store in Gariahat, Kolkata, one of the city’s major commercial hubs. Spread across three floors, the store incorporates regional elements into its design, décor and ambience, reflecting local consumer preferences and Kolkata’s cultural identity.
“Kolkata is a key market for CaratLane, driven by strong cultural roots and an appetite for contemporary design. Opening our Gariahat flagship, which thoughtfully incorporates regional flavours into its design and decor, marks an important milestone as we scale to over 35 stores in West Bengal,” said CaratLane Managing Director Saumen Bhaumik.
The Gariahat outlet is among CaratLane’s flagship stores nationally and offers jewellery for everyday wear, gifting and special occasions. It also provides the brand’s omnichannel shopping experience, allowing consumers to engage with its online and offline retail ecosystem.
CaratLane is also expanding its product and consumer engagement strategy. The company recently unveiled its Kaashika and Polki collections, showcased by Bollywood brand ambassador Yami Gautam Dhar. It has also partnered with actor Ashlesha Thakur to connect with younger consumers following the launch of Shaya Diamonds and its contemporary everyday 9kt gold jewellery collection.
The retailer’s FY27 strategy is focused on expanding access to contemporary jewellery while strengthening its presence in high-potential markets. Its investments in stores, collections and omnichannel capabilities are designed to support discovery, purchase and engagement across different consumer occasions.
With its planned store additions and focus on regional markets, CaratLane is building a wider retail network while continuing to position contemporary jewellery as an accessible and relevant choice for everyday consumers.
